Hypnotizing Horizons
#WritcoStoryChallenge
The sun was setting into the horizon. I watched it and wondered, should I walk towards it or turn around and go home. I tried to fight but the light called my name. It was loud as the war in my mind but echoed like old memories I lost over time. The longer I stared the more I was drawn in. As much as I want to turn back, I see my future in the sky and everything my life could be in the heavens. So I take a step forward to see the sun peek through. I always wished I could fly to my dreams and grab my loved ones I once lost. Even the water hitting my feet reminds me of how life moved on without them. The sky is so beautiful tonight that I wonder if they painted it just for me. I’ve always wished I could sit on the clouds and talk to them once more, when the pain is too much to endure. I could have all I begged for if I just kept walking into the water, following the horizon. I feel the water hitting my shoulder, as the sun disappears. The sky a beautiful shade of pink and purple but now all I see is blue. I want to let the water take me. This world never cared for me. Every second of agony, is second closer I am to everything and everyone who has ever loved me.
