All Seemed Lost
Eve dropped the fruit and tears began to fall as she looked at herself, she knew something had just gone terribly wrong. She felt emotions she had never felt before. These new emotions were not good. They did not make her smile or dance or laugh or shout for joy. They did not make her lay down in peace. These new emotions were bad and scary. for the first time, a living soul felt sorrow and sadness, fear and loss and grief, emptiness, loneliness, shame, regret, guilt and self-loathing. for the first time, she knew the difference between good and evil. She realized the serpent had lied. But what was done could not be undone. As she stood there alone, crying, filled with dread and overwhelmed with sorrow upon sorrow, she could think only one thing, "Where is my husband? He must eat of it also for if he doesn't, I will be all alone in my pain and no one will comfort me. I'll have no one to turn to! I can't bare to be alone, not in this condition." Just then, her husband came and she gave him some of the fruit and he also ate of it. He saw his wife in such pain and anguish, so afraid and alone, he was sad for her so he went ahead and did it. "She is flesh of my flesh and bone of my bone. How shall I forsake her?!" But as he took the fruit and ate it, he wondered if he'd made the wrong choice. Now he was as Eve, knowing good and evil. He knew guilt, shame fear and sadness, loss of innocence, and loneliness too. They both ran away in opposite directions to cover their nakedness. They both felt more alone than ever. to be continued....
