As a writer in Nigeria it's difficult
As a poet in Nigeria it's 2times difficult
But as an uneducated writer in Nigeria
It's heartbreaking .

Usually every first conversation goes very smoothly, they are usually questions about how I fell in-love with writing, why exactly I chose poetry, how long it has been and so on.
The questions are usually easy, calming, and straight forward, and whenever it fares to anything education I usually give surface answers and move on.

The second time is gets hard, when all the surface questions have been asked and answered, then the more serious questions are asked.
Questions like what course did you study, what really inspired you to start writing and many more.
Questions like this really put me on the spot and I hate to lie, so the truth is all I'm left with....
"Hmmmm I'm actually uneducated"
"ooh you mean you didn't go to the university, well that's fine , I guess university life isn't really for everyone".
" No I mean not even high school,
"Nothing at all"?
"Yes Nothing".
