That Friend!
Anu a commerce Graduate and a working lady in a Marketing departments in a Multinational Bank in Mumbai. She is a scholar from her school time and successful in her career.
Apart from studies she was fond of collecting stamps, coins and all the things that are close to her heart she keeps them very carefully in her personal favourite collection. On one relaxed Sunday she was going through her favourite collection and one pouch fell in front of her containing a bunch of greeting cards. As she carefully took it in her hands and opened it she saw Greeting cards gifted by her school friends and relatives for Birthdays and other festive occasions. Suddenly while looking through the collection she gazed at a Birthday Greeting Card gifted to her from her school friend Meena. She felt as if Meena is in front of her and they are having fun time as they used to enjoy their favourite music, song numbers from films. Still she remember how she met her friend Meena in her school. As she remembered they both met first time when they were studying in 8th standard.
Anu was a bright student and also a girl with joyful nature. She was having short hair and she used to look adorable with the white hair band. She was a happy go lucky person very aggressive and very decent personality.She used to meet everyone with a wide smile on face, she never fail to greet all her near and dear ones on their birthdays and also used to make them feel special about themselves by arranging surprises. She was having such a strong bond with everyone she used to meet.
She was a person whos childhood was full of challenges because of her mothers ill health. But that never made her bitter or aloof as she learnt how to stay strong in all the situations in life.
It was the first day of the School . Anu was very excited to see her new class and all her new classmates. She met everyone greeted everyone and when
She greeted hello to Meena she turned her face and shown her disinterest in talking to her. Anu once again said hello with excitement Hi there I am Anu and your good name please? she asked Meena her new classmate politely. The school bell rang and all the students got settled in their respective benchs.
The new class teacher entered the classroom. She took the attendance. Anu's roll number was one she answered with politeness but with little excitement present teacher. Meena's roll number was twenty-one and when she answered her attendance Anu winked and smiled at her as she came to know her new classmates name was, Meena, but Meena wasn't interested or one can say she wasn't aware that it was the day and time that laid the foundations of their future relation.
Meena was a girl exactly opposite to Anu. She was having reservations for making friends and was always aloof and choosy and narraw minded when it comes to be friends with her school mates. She was a average student in studies. She was introvert in nature and barely smile or gel with anyone. She was having limited circle of friends with whom she used to interact in class. Anu saw Meena and always gave her a special treatment as if Meena was having treasure of love and affection as a friend and wanted to see her precious smile and , was attracted to her nature. Anu always felt those somber vibes of affection in Meena's stern behaviour and it created stronger urge to know her and understand her and mostly she wanted to be friend with her.
Meena was having a greatest Love for hindi film music and Anu also used to Love singing and bit of dancing also. Meena's was having long hair,two braided pony tails with red ribbons, Anu always used to praise her long hair and always felt that someday she will also have a long hair.
Teacher asked introduction in class. Everybody introduces with their basic details like name and hobbies etc.
Class Teacher teached first lesson and ask for the interactive question - answers session. Anu is very proactive answered max questions and impressed teacher with her smartness. Then teacher Announced that their class monitor will be Anu as she seems to be aggressive and smart student. Afterwords the class teacher gave various assignments to students to complete.
Here for everything Anu is the contact point to submit the assignments on time. Everyone congratulate Anu when teacher announces her as a class monitor except Meena.
Meena used to hate everything about Anu, how she use to look, how she used to talk and never liked to be around her for any class assignments or for anything. Anu was always friendly with Meena and used to crack a joke to make her smile but it never bothered Meena's stern face and behaviour.
Days passed by and it was the time of quarterly exams Meena was average student and there was a emergency at her home. Her mother fall sick and Meena couldn't complete her assignments and couldn't cope with the syllabus for the exam. Only one week was left for all the submissions and after that exams was scheduled. Meena was very tense and during recess time she started crying. That was the last day of a English and Maths Submission which she couldnt finish. Anu saw Meena was in tears and was very sad. Anu said don't worry I will speak to teacher although she is strict she will consider. But Meena started crying harder when asked the reason she said both the subjects Maths and English are the toughest for me and why you will help me. I am soo much rude to you always I speak to you with so angrily. Anu said to Meena, I never felt bad as I know you were not comfortable with me but I always felt Affection for you dear buddy Meena.
Anu then spoke to the class teacher about Meena's emergency situation at her home and also promised to submit the assignments within two days. I take responsibility to finish it within time limit Anu said.
After the school Anu and Meena both went to Anu's home and she helped her dear friend meena to complite the assignment but also arranged some financial support for meena's parents from her father.Meenas tension disappeared. Anu whom she was hating so much has solved her major problems. She was then very happy and glad that she met her friend Anu. They started enjoying each other's compay and specially Meena's heart was full of affection and gratitude for her best friend Anu.
Days went by and as final exam results were announced both Anu and Meena passed the exam in flying colors.
As Meena approached happily to Anu to shared the good News as Anu's Birthday was also there on the same day.
As it was a dual celebration day Meena greeted Anu happy birthday , hugged her and said I am very happy dear see what I brought for you. It was light green colored envolop with a beautiful Happy Birthday Greeting Card with a picture of a beautiful Rose on it. Anu said with a sad face that dear my father has got transferred to a Metro City: Bombay.
Meena cried a lot and said dear friend Anu you are going I still can't belive. You have been such a gem person I have ever met. Our special bond of friendship is beyond words. I will never forget you dear. The time enjoyed with you is precious to me. As you are going away from me I feel too much pain thinking that why I was so harsh with you? Why do I behaved so rudely earlier? Yes but someday you might forget me but rest assured I will never get angry on you as you have taught me the important lesson of life. Hate can't remove hate from a heart but Love can do wonders.
Anu's eyes were in tears when she remembered this words of her best friend Meena and she felt happy that she never gave up on goodness in her forever friend.
