If The World Was Ending

"The asteroid is heading undeterred towards us. We're doomed," The newsreader quoted, her face ashen. I look around at my family, all seven of us were sat in front of the TV. My older sister had turned it on even when we all knew what the newsreader would say. I guess we just wanted her to confirm it.
"Aww, and I had plans to make a short film tomorrow." My immediate younger brother, Zakariyah whines, turning the TV off. He is the liveliest one amongst us, always finding ways to make us laugh, even now, he still made a joke about it, earning a small smile from me.
"We have five hours left." My mum states, voice shaking from the tears she was trying to hold back. I glance at my youngest sibling, Rania, who is ten years old, and suddenly an overwhelming sense of sadness washes over me, knowing she wouldn't be able to experience all the beautiful memories life has to offer. I pull her into a hug, and she grabs unto me tightly, telling me that it'd be okay even when I could hear the tears in her voice. I smile at how mature she is, at her age all she does is worry about others, she would've been such an amazing leader. Soon enough, my father joins in the hug, followed by the rest of our family. We couldn't even cry or say anything, that hug was the only way we could communicate our feelings. Breathing in my family's scent, I realize that billions of people don't around the world don't have that privilege right now. Some people are spending their last moments writhing in pain from an illness or all alone, yet here I am, in the last hours of...
