Love, Blood, Revenge
"So? Are you sure you wanna buy this? ", asked my husband.
"Oh yes! It looks so beautiful, see? It reminds me of my parents. "
After a week long battle between shopping and our busy schedule, we finally had spared some time to go shopping for some curtains and accessories. Hustling between choices, I had found some curtains similar to that of my house in Dalhousie.
"Okay bhaiya (brother), pack this!", Amit finally approved for my choice.
"Let's have some Faluda with icecream on our way back. This heat is killing me", I said as I wiped out my face with my beautiful handcrafted handkerchief by my mother.
After a long day full of arguments with Amit regarding my fancy choices and least interest in saving money, we entered our sweet home.
"You taking tomorrow off, right", I asked half asleep.
"Mad or what! My boss is gonna kill me. We have an audit tomorrow. "
"So am I going to do this all alone? ", I said swaying hands in air in disgust.
"You have to. It was your choice to renovate the interiors. You can ask for help, but at most after a month".
"Fine". I turned sides and closed my eyes angrily.

Amit left early for the office the next day. Unfortunately, Rama had also taken a leave for the day because of her daughter's birthday. I had sent her a gift already. I completed cooking and started changing curtains of all rooms and decorating the bedroom and living room. I had bought a new dinner set too, which had left Amit red-faced for almost an hour. As I changed the curtains, I remembered my beautiful old days in Dalhousie. The days when mom used to run after me to feed me, when Dad used to tiptoe into my room while I would be asleep and caress me, when Ankur and Me used to fight everyday and still were like best of friends in front of our parents. All this were perhaps the best of memories I had. While moving to Mumbai with Amit, perhaps these memories was the only treasure I had. Because, my parents and my brother had already bid me a permanent goodbye.
I gently wiped my tears as I came back to present. I got back to work and I was almost done. It was already 3pm by that time, and I decided to have my lunch. I also had a slight headache, so before I could have my lunch, I planned for a power nap of 30 minutes.

"Hey Madhu, are you okay!!?", I heard an unfamiliar voice as I woke up.
I saw Amit...
