DON'T RUN

"Don't run!".This is what they will tell you when a dog approaches you. 😒

I love dogs but I have had series of funny and unfortunate experiences with them.
Let me share this one experience 🙂

One of the days I and my cousin went to fetch water in our neighbours compound.
The compound is a very big compound with Heavy Gates. The compound was heavily guarded by dogs. ( In fact na because of dem the statement "Beware of Dogs" start).

They normally release the dogs at night and then put them back in the cage in the morning.
So it was on one of such mornings that I and my cousins entered the compound to fetch water.

While we entered the compound someone was giving us a sign through the glass windows. We couldn't understand because he was just pointing and saying something we couldn't hear.

We entered the compound and fetched the water successfully. After placing the big bowls of water on our heads and we were about leaving the compound. Suddenly, the dogs came chasing behind us while barking.

Unconsciously the voice, "Don't run" sounded in my ears.

Don't run?

See movement, we didn't just run o, we started "Flying without wings" (in Westlife's voice)
The bowl of water on our heads automatically became "Dis load wey you dey carry no be your own".
The speed with which we flung the gate opened oh boy! The gate became as light as dry leaves in the wind(We did not feel the heaviness again o).

In fact the only sound I heard that showed that we scaled through was the big bang of the big gate in the Compound.

My Dear when we got home na laughter end the story o and each time I and my cousins talk that matter we just laugh at ourselves. 🤣🤣🤣

I have been bitten by a dog I was fond of, dogs have chased me on heels on Christmas day,I have tamed a unfriendly dog to become so submissive to me.
My experiences are numerous and if I see any dog now especially the ones that I am familiar with, I still hear the voice "Don't run". 🤣
