MY LAST (CHAPTER TWELVE)
"I've had a crush on you ever since we started working on the school activities together," she admitted, looking away shyly.

My heart skipped a beat when she said those words. I had always thought that Auiry was cute and smart, but I was still in the process of moving on from my previous relationship. I didn't want to lead Auiry on or hurt her feelings.

" I... I'm sorry, but I need time to sort out my feelings. I think you're amazing, but I don't want to rush into something without being completely sure." I explained, hoping she would understand.

She nodded, and I could tell that she was disappointed. "I understand, Zack. Just take all the time you need," she said, trying to hide the hurt in her voice.

I knew that I had hurt her, and I felt terrible about it. I wished that I could return her feelings, but I knew that I needed to put myself first and not rush into anything.

We sat in silence for a while, and then she spoke up again. "I still value our friendship, Zack. I don't want this to change anything between us."

I smiled, relieved that she was able to look past her own feelings and still value our friendship. "I agree, Pres. I still want to be friends with you too," I replied, grateful for her understanding.

We talked a bit longer and then said our goodbyes. As I walked home, I couldn't help but think about Auiry and how much I had enjoyed spending time with her. Maybe one day, when I'm ready, we can explore our feelings for each other. Until then, I'll cherish our friendship and the memories we've made together.

As the school year went on, Auiry and I continued to work together on various projects. We still hung out outside of school, but things were different now that she had revealed her feelings for me. I could tell that she was trying everything she could to get me to feel the same way, but I just wasn't ready.

One day, she surprised me with tickets to see my favorite band in concert. She knew that music was one of my passions and hoped that sharing this experience with me would help me see her in a different light. We had a great time at the concert, and I could tell that she really cared about me.

Another time, she invited me over to her house to try out some new board games that she had purchased. She knew that I loved playing games and wanted to share this hobby with me. We spent hours playing and laughing, and I couldn't help but notice how much fun we were having together.

Despite her efforts to win my heart, I still wasn't ready to start a relationship. I would be lying if I said that I hadn't thought about it, though. There were moments when I found myself looking at her in a different way, noticing how beautiful she was or how much I enjoyed spending time with her.
