Today, during a phone call with my cousin, she was discussing the weekend and meeting with a girl A who had been introduced by a common friend of theirs.
She told the girl A was a tall, beautiful and educated girl working as an accountant in one of the firm in Mumbai.
As my cousin is new in Mumbai, so Girl A told her to join in Bandra for some food and chat.
During the chat girl A discussed about her toxic boyfriend who used to insult her and her family, sleep with other girls and once beaten her black and blue.
Girl A also revealed that whenever she tries to avoid him or trying to break up with him, he comes to apologize and cries.
He is dominating girl A and begging her to marry, but somehow she still doesn't marry him.
I asked my cousin why she is not leaving her instead of all these issues. My cousin has realized that love is her weakness, despite education and living in Mumbai, she doesn't have much courage to break up with him or stand for her self-respect.
During the discussion with my cousin I got to know one thing that even in metropolitan cities, girls are being exploited even though they have education, jobs and awareness.
