"It's a girl! "
The doctor gushed, placing the wailing infant on the woman's chest.
She heaved trying to catch her breath in the aftermath of her gruelling labour. Tears of pain mingled briefly with tears of joy before dissolving into tears of sadness.
She had once again given birth to a girl! Her third daughter. What would her husband and in-laws do to her now?...
She was happy yet scared about their reactions. She was pretty sure that is husband would accept the baby but what about her mother in law and father in law. She was smiling while looking at the doctor but terrified to. Only, his father in law and his husband knew and they were quite happy to see the bright smile on the baby's face.
The mother in law was at home, as she heard about a baby girl she was shocked and angered as she was expecting a boy.
In anger she even broke the glass she had in her hand. Hearing this noise her daughter Devi, rushed down the royal house staircase and asked what made her mad.
On learning all about the situation she made her mom calm down and said, "Mom, their is nothing to be angered about"
The mother in law shouted "Are you mad she is a girl!! We already have two girls. Now I want a boy so that he can take over the business. "
Devi, "Mom before you do anything listen to me it is not important to always follow the tradition we have been following. Why don't you understand it doesn't matters if it is a girl or boy all matters the love you give. Imagine if I would be killed my grandmother, what would have been your reaction? So, accept her and make her strong like a man. Even a woman can run a business better than a man. "
Mother in law," I am sorry for acting so foolishly forgive me. "

The moral of the story : Traditions are great but not necessary to be followed always. Lets bring equality for women, men and transgender.
