Happy New Year - Short Story
This is a story of a dog, who lived in a small city of Anima. Everyone called him "Sabio". He was just a stray who stayed and fed by everyone in the city. Years passed, people gradually stopped feeding him as the entire town was hit by a very bad famine.
Sabio went from house to house for food. But no one gave him even a little morsel. To make things worse, the weather changed drastically. The winter was peak, snowing heavily.
So Sabio decided to go to the nearby town to see if they are having sufficient food left so that he could fill is hunger. After walking many kilometers, he reached the town, but the town was crowded with tourists. So he decided to go to one of the shops to get something for him to eat. However, he was shooed away. He went door to door, looking for food,and the response of the same.
Finally, he came to a house, lived by a lonely man, seeing the poor state of Sabio, he fed it with the last food which he was saving for him. After eating, Sabio, stayed the night as the return was a very long journey. Next day, when Sabio was about to leave the house, the lonely man, packed some fruits and foods and put it in a bag for Sabio to carry. Sabio, locked the man in joy, and ran back to his town with joy and full satisfaction that he was getting food for the people.
To his surprise, the entire village was covered and under a thick snow blanket. He dropped the food bag, and started to dig. He started to dig one by one. At the same time, there was a patrolling vehicle which was passing the area. Seeing this odd behavior, the officers called for a backup and snow blowers to remove the think snow.
After hours of rescue operation, the entire people of Sabio town was rescued and taken to hospital for treatment. The officers were surprised with the dogs intelligence and took it with them as a rescue unit in their team. They trained it very well, so that it's potential is served for a purpose.
Years went by, the dog, frequently visited the village as a gratitude they showed when it was just a stray, and people felt that, without this dog, they would be burried inside the snow alive and and frozen.
