Which method of discipline do you prefer, soft or tough? Create a story about the query to back up your response.
Whenever we hear the word discipline, we normally relate it to school days, or our parents telling us to be discipline and yes we also relate this term majorly with the defense people.
The word gives us a sense of being tough,because that's how we have seen it being used,be in school, home, work,etc.
Even in dictionary, when we search discipline it talks about an order, a code of conduct.
However, when it comes to implementing discipline in life whether at work or at home, I don't have any specific method to follow. Instead it all depends on the situation and the people I am dealing with before I make a choice to being soft or tough.
For example if I have to teach my kids to keep their toys back from where they took out or putting all the stuff they took from my purse back into it. I cannot be harsh all the time, shouting or hitting them for not obeying. Instead if I tell them about the reason behind it and may even participate with them to do a certain task, it shall automatically implement the habit and maybe next time they don't need to be told so.
On the other hand,being in the competitive market, we are constantly looking for that perfection to always stay on the top and in order to achieve and maintain the same we have to ensure that an order is regularly followed. Hence, in this case the method of discipline can be tough.
Usually in the forces we hear and see how strict an order is followed, it is required to listen and follow them.
After all serving your nation is no joke. It comes with a big responsibility and if there no proper code of conduct enforced, the consequences can be very bad.
Similarly, not everywhere we can be harsh when it comes to being disciplined. If we have to implement discipline in our lives we usually forgive ourselves very easily after a few misses. We never punish ourselves.
When it comes to school there is a proper code of conduct that is enforced very strictly, however in universities it is different.
Organisations adhere to a code of conduct when it comes to hierarchy,process, systems etc. On the other, a vegetable seller maybe disciplined in many ways, but may not follow them as strictly since he is moving from places to places and has to be flexible.
In a jail, the jailers have to be tough on the prisoners,otherwise they would run away and again be on a spree of killing people.
From the above examples mentioned, there is no doubt that we all follow discipline, however when it comes to implementing it, as per me a hard disciple will usually follow a paradigm , whereas soft disciple differ innmenthologies or situations.
We all follow a routine in our daily lives, this is also discipline. However, to choose what method we prefer is dependent on the situations place,profession we are in and the people around us.
