"Baby, I'm home...", He announces as he walks into the dimly lit room, the woman he had been waiting all day to see nowhere in sight. "Princess, Daddy's home..."
A frown settled on his face when he heard no response. He set out to find her, taking the stairs two at a time.
He peered in their room and saw no sign of her although the lingering scent in the room was that of her sweet perfume.
"Babe?" He called out, trying to keep the panic out of his voice.
He wrecked his brain trying to figure out if he had forgotten about plans his significant other may have mentioned but he came up empty.
He tried to recall how he left things that morning; he vaguely remembered kissing her sleepy lips and telling her he loved her.
Did she even hear him? Did she leave?
He loosened his tie and pulled out his phone, dialing her number.
She had the nerve! Making him worry like this.
