I climbed up the stairs, lost in my own thoughts. It was my first day after the lockdown. I was really excited as well as nervous.

I asked some teachers about my room number and after sometime, I was there standing infront of my own classroom. I opened the door, my eyes falling on my class teacher .

"May I come in, Teacher?"

"Yes"

I took a seat ,the classroom was almost empty. The desks were cleaned and polished. As I was looking around the classroom,

"Can I sit here?"

I looked up, it was a girl. She was shorter than me.Her hair was curly and was tied in a braid.

"Umm...Yes"I replied.

She sat down, keeping her bag on the ground.

"I am Sarrah"

"I am Erum"

It took us just a few days to become close friends. She was a careless girl, a backbencher and worst at studies. We got closer and closer as the time passed.

The pt.1 examinations were going to be held soon. I was prepared for most of my subjects. We were going to sit as per as our roll numbers during the examination. I was going to sit with David.

David was Sarah's boyfriend. He was a total gangster. Always roaming around in messed up school uniform. Bullying students were bliss for him. I hated him!!. He onced threatened my friend also.

I was in the classroom studying for my maths paper. Sarah was sitting beside me. Seeing her expression, I was sure that she wanted to tell me something.

"Will you help David pass the exam?"

"Huh?Not at all! Why would I help him cheat?"

"Just let him peak and copy from your paper"

"I won't allow!!"

"If you wouldn't I will tell the teacher about how you skipped the online test and don't forget about how you broke the expensive vase? Should I remind you that it was the last sign of the founder s' "
"You can't do that!"

I was sitting in the classroom, studying. The exam was going to start .David came to me with a blank face.

"So, I hope that Sarah told you everything"

"You should work hard by yourself!!"

"I don't care about studies,just a waste of time"

I was about to say something but the bell rang. He just smirked ,murmuring something under his breath .

His sitting position was really uncomfortable for me.He kept hitting my leg for showing him the answers.I was really angry, it was the first time somebody was cheating from me.

The whole examination, he copied from me. I also requested Sarah to make him stop.But no use!

It was the result day. I was sad because my hardwork was wasted on somebody else .

"Erum....you scored really good marks , Good job, Keep it up !!"

I smiled and took my report card.

"David....."

"I know I did well"

"Really?...I think you should repeat the year because you FAILED!!"

"How's that even possible !!!?"

"Do you think I am blind?!"
