KOTA/BHOPAL: An 18-year-old NEET aspirant from Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa died by suicide in Kota Wednesday, a day after the results were declared.Bagisha Tiwari’s death is the 10th case of suspected suicide by a coaching student in Kota since the beginning of this year. In 2023, the Rajasthan city witnessed a record-high 26 cases of suspected suicide by coaching students, the highest in recent years.
Bagisha had been preparing for NEET for three years and had moved to Kota a year ago with her mother and younger brother, who is a JEE aspirant. They had taken a fifth-floor apartment on rent.
NEET released the results Tuesday. Bagisha scored 320 out of 720 marks, and was dejected. Her father Vinod Tiwari, a PWD engineer, was in Rewa then. He said he spoke with her over phone and assured her not to worry about the result as she could get into a private college.
