I remember a monstrous serial killer that local law enforcement failed to catch the maniac even with federal agents assisting local law enforcement couldn't find any clues to identity of the mastermind behind the brutal butchers that terrorized the state of West Virginia. Around the time the first family was found the local PD assumed it was some kind of retaliation against one of the members due to the criminal record that member had but that trail as well as others ran cold, to this day nobody has any clues to the WVB's identity or motives yet there had to be some kind of motive, this guy became one of the world's most notorious psychopath. The second family he butchered was sent to the local police coroner's department addressed to the officers and detectives involved with the first butcher mocking them with the statement of not being found and not done with his butchers, which point federal agency was notified and required to aid local law enforcement in their attempt to bring this monster down, shortly after the aided team located the rest of the remains from the second family, this went on for about 3 years with 666 victims being butchered befor the WVB inevitable disappeared without a trace leaving behind a single printed out paper stating that "they" (law enforcement and Federal agents) would never bring him down, no fingerprints, no digital trails, nothing just dead cold trail, everybody involved in the brutal case resigned with their pride and respect forever tarnished.
There is many theories to the identity and motives but nothing conclusively legit, not very long after the WVB disappeared rumors speculated maybe he took his work elsewhere but he never resurfaced, yet there was one case where somebody sent a letter to the agents that resigned claiming to be the west virginia butcher claiming he grew tired of the lack of intelligence for him to be brought down and was currently working on a new virus that would cripple the world, immediate the agents went back to the victims dismembered body parts to test for anything in the body parts such as any components conducted in virus or any disease properties, their conclusion that any strain of virus or properties in any virus would have already been gone by the time they did the testing, however few of the most recent bodies that blood was drawn had shown some strain not normally found in the blood and was sent to the center for disease control only to find the strain was only a chemical which Boosted the effects of a drug or strain of disease virtually making it more lethal and the weirdest part was there was an unknown element introduced to the boosting property.
I'm no expert but I do know that strains of virus do tent to mutate and what if this strain was just an early stage if an idiot messing with deadly strains of diseases not knowing what he was doing could have caused the Apocalypse?
I doubt it's possible but the fact that this happened like 2 years befor the Apocalypse can't be a coincidence however this is nothing more that a tale of the west virginia butcher yet
it could be possible that New York Terrorist attacks could have been connected in some way, after all while bombings was occurring in NY multiple experimental biological agents was stolen from top secret research facilities that was developing new and experimental chemical and biological agents but that's a story for another time.
