Obedience to oneself is a penance of reason
Aishwarya and I decided to tie up 2022 with a 3 day cleanse/fast/penance. It was impromptu really and we went with our hearts. It has less to do with a specific path and rather to do with us winging it to find ourselves and setting the tone for the new year. We found it so pertinent to do so right now, it's the biggest sacrifice before this chapter ends and the page is turned to a fresh new chapter. It reminds us that we are human, it's okay to restart, to take it back to simplicity and block out the noise of the external world that wants us living day to day as slaves to habits, money and a lack mindset.

As humans, we often find ourselves dabbling in lust, ego, greed, envy, jealousy, anger, temper and pride. We weren't meant to be perfect but we can surely try to unlock levels of ourselves that will serve our highest good. Abundance is so different from chasing things that will eat up years that we can never get back. Life is meant to be enjoyed. In this present moment, we have everything we need to live a wholesome life, we just need to utilise our inherent essence to do so.

Most of us have found ourselves dishevelled with the spiritual/religious aspect post COVID. The pandemic in some way or the other has affected our socialism, spirituality and mental health. Coping mechanisms have been on a high and inevitably most of us lowered our vibrational frequency due to loss, grief and anxiety. While religion is pretty vast, there's beauty and truth to all. If it promotes love, peace and self help then it's surely worth a try. If you too find yourself living day by day with no contentment, perhaps it's time to look within. There's always hope.

We have chosen specific practices for each day according to how we feel. We aim to strip ourselves of creature comforts, certain foods, social media, too much of social interaction-basically aiming to get in touch with our inner selves again. Monday will commence with us starting our day at 6am, meditation, journaling, wearing white clothing offering penance to Lord Shiva. We aim to clear and declutter our minds by finding ourselves in meditation, reflection and the emptying out of anything that no longer serves us.

If we don't slow down to refuel and take things back to the drawing board, we'd never garner enough velocity to make wholesome changes needed for a better future.

On this tumultuous journey we call life, it's important to remain humble and aware of all things. There's a certain beauty to sacrifice. It brings so much of discipline & healing. We will journal our findings and feelings as we go along.

Wishing you much love and light. May your week be blessed, may you remember who you truly are and never lose sight of the bright light ahead.

Much love always.
