Our Final Adventure

I can never forget the joyous days of my childhood, especially the summer when all we did was swim in the river or lie on it's edge, ah, the good ol' days
I remember this one time. We went on an adventure. It was a sixty mile walk -forward and back- and this was back in the twenty tens. Yeah, I know, I long time ago.
Anyway, It was Me, Russel, Jacob, and Frederick. We all agreed on going.
So we all packed up and met at an abandoned train station. We started walking the tracks. We would do stupid things like push each other down on the tracks or something to that extent. It was dangerous but you don't really think about that as a kid. We continue walking for another ten minutes.
We didn't have any food or drinks. So I decide I'll go to the nearest Seven-eleven. I bought four cokes and a pack of hotdogs. It was $12.43c.
I started heading back. But I see this big dog. Or at least that's what I thought it was. It didn't seem to mind me and I didn't mind it. I finally arrive back and Russel is sparking up with a J.
"You weren't gonna wait for me to get back" I snarled. "Man, don't worry we got enough to last days" He calmly replied. "fine" I said in a frustrated tone. "Here's your guys food and shit" I said to the boys.
So we started walking again when the sun came up. it must've been like four am. We got to this big rock. it had "Die" and doodlings of skulls all over it. "I-I don't feel right about this" Frederick told all of us. "Stop being a pussy" each one of us said.
We continued walking an. walking and it got creepier and weirder. I felt like I been here. "Hey.. guys.. this place seems very familiar to me and I've never been here, I'd remember if I have" I told them. "Yeah.. I feel the same, dude" Russel said. "me too" Frederick and Jacob said.
"Well.. We can't go back now, this is our final adventure guys, our childhood will be up in a year or so and we won't be together so, let's just get through this" I said in a serious tone. "He's right, you guys" Russel said to back me up. So we continue walking.
*Boom* *Pop* *pew*
"Everyone get the fuck down" I said quickly. An attack plane was above us shooting at us. We ran into a shed. "What. The. Fuck. Just. Happened"? Jacob said in a light whisper. "I don't fucking know, man" I answer.

"It looks like we're under attack" President Dump said.
"What does this mean dude"? Russel asked me. "I-I think we're at war. My guess would be China/South Korea but it could also be Russia". I replied to him. "But-But we're just teenagers, kids, I don't wanna die man" He said in a panic. "I know man, I know, I don't want to either but we gotta continue walking we just gotta be careful" I said. "Are you fucking nutty"? Frederick said. "Maybe, maybe not. but i didn't walk all this way just to be shot at, so I'm finishing this walk -with or without you- So make your choice" I told him. "I- I'll say" he sighed.
We went out of hiding and in the sky bombs were getting dropped, guns getting shot. Everyone screaming. No one expected this. "Fuck this, go back, now" I demanded. Everyone listened. It felt like forever and all this over a stupid nuke to China. Apparently China was spying on US citizens and President Dump got mad so he nuked China and they came back with fire.
This war was never ending. We had one person go out of hiding and kill a fish or a squirrel and we would make a fire and cook the meal. It was a very sad time.
So after all the nukes and shooting. What felt like forever. It was only one week. I was sure it was months, years even. Every second felt like forever.
We did win the wat but we never finished that adventure. But don't tell them, it was a unforgettable day. I'm kind of glad we went and I'm happy we all made it.
Russel ended up working for the army and he died serving for his country. Jacob started gang banging and got shot dead for a rival gang. Frederick ended up getting killed by a drunk driver. and finally, I ended up writing a story about the best day of my life.
