We Loved Once Chap 2
Rain bit her lips as she drove home, thinking about the afternoon she just spent with Harry. Lately her best friend seemed to be the only thing on her mind. It wasn't just her brilliance and well put together disposition. It was the mellow tone in her voice, her lean muscular frame and short auburn hair that cupped her fair cheeks. Her stomach had butterflies, why Harry make her feel so nervous? She pulled into the stone gates of her large vintage mansion and rolled into her parking spot. Right next to her father's. He was her role model. Everything she accomplished was because he believed in her and pushed her to persue bizzare opportunities. She hoped that tonight's endeavor would be successful. She was trying her hand at acting and had dinner with her costar Dayton that night. She'd spent some time with him before and had never met someone more self absorbed qnd obnoxious. But Rain was smart and new what was coming, they were going to have to get together. The press wanted it, her agency, once those two things merged she had no say in anything. She entered the red wooden door to her marble foyer where the sun gleamed in from the glass on the other end of the room. She ran her fingers along her lilly white grand piano as she headed for the staircase to her room. Three hours till it was time to go dine with Dayton... three.

Harry filled her black tiled, square tub with water and almond bath foam. She unbottoned her teal shirt and neatly folded it along with the rest of her clothes and places it in her laundry basket. Jemma, their housekeeper never ceased to be impressed by her neatness. She slipped into the warm water and closed her eyes. She smelled her. Her smell was unique, a pecan nut perfume she concocted for her line. Harry wanted her there with her. Covered in foam, her wet curls falling down her back... STOP. She dug her nails into her palms. These feelings were unacceptable and inappropriate. Besides after attaining a masters degree in literature and philosophy Harry knew better than to fall for someone who would never fall for her. She was setting herself up for heartbreak. The people we love aren't obligated to love us back.
"Alexa, read Great Expectations" she called, pressing the jet option on her tub to relax to one of her favorite novels.
She got out a few chapters later and dried her skin with her soft purple towel.
On her bed awaited the long khakis, blue shirt and burgundy sweater she selected earlier on. After slipping into them she stood infront her mirror and combed her hair. Applying some gel ao that it stayed in place. Time to attend a dinner she had no buisness attending.

Harry's heart fluctuated as Rain walked down her stairs. Her hair was in a low bun with a rose attached. She wore a light pink dress with white roses. The kind that wrapped around you and finished with white pumps. All her jewelry had rose pendants. Rain was so feminine, so gorgeous. She smiled.
"Hey Harry, thanks so much for coming with me... if I'm going to have to date the guy, he should at least meet my best friend."
Harry gave a half hearted smile.
"Sure."
They entered the black Mercedes that was waiting for them and listened to their favorite podcast on conspiracy theories on the way there.
"I am telling you, aliens have been here before. " Harry opined "There's so much evidence to prove it. Evidence I've seen myself." She was talking about the archeological dig she attended last Easter in Egypt. They'd found hieroglyphics of modern day technology on the dig. Harry came alive every time she talked about it.
"I'm just a teensy bit skeptical, like how can Aliens be real but not fairies?"
She lifted her left eyebrow. Harry thought it was adorable when she did that.
They pulled to a stop in front of Sushé, a new trendy sushi longue. Rain tenderly grabbed Harry's hand.
"I'm nervous." she whispered.
Her hands were shaking, Rain suffered with anxiety. Harry tightened her grip and looked her in the eye.
"Don't be, you're amazing, everything will be fine."
Her face lit up again, her red stained lips stretching across her face.
"You're amazing."
They got out of the car and walked inside the green, white lit restaurant. Dayton sat at a booth in the corner of the room. They made there way towards him. Rain took a deep breath, before plastering her world famous smile onto her face.
"Hey." she greeted.
He seemed shocked to see someone else there.
"Hey beautiful, I didn't know you were bringing company."
He eyed Harry.
"Oh," Rain began chuckling "I decided to bring my best friend Harry along, thought it'd be good for you two to get to know each other."
Harry and Dayton awkwardly shook hands. Dayton gestured for Rain to sit next to him, Harry took the opposite seat. She began scanning the menue to ignore the tension she was feeling. Dayton's eyes barley left Rain. The way he spoke and sat and even dressed screamed douch bag. She could see the appeal to teenage girls though. He was Apollo. Rain tried to include Harry in the conversation but Dayton made it difficult. After dinner they went for a walk at their local amusement park. Crwods chased them for photos of Dayton and Rain. Harry just stood and watched until Dayton kissed her. The feelings that rushed to Harry were too much for her to bare. She knew the day would come where she'd have to give Rain up. She thought she was prepared for it, but obviously she wasn't she couldn't. She loved Rain since the day she was born. Not just for her beauty, but for her soul. She was so so kind and loving. Far to precious for the horrors of this world.
