Illegal Hopes.
It was the last time I would see her face. The last time we would be together. Everyone in the crowd was cheering. The drunk men were dancing their pain away. She pulled me up from my chair and I couldn't turn her down since it would be embarrassing.
I didn't remember how to dance.
AVA: (chuckles) You look like you're before a firing squad. (Places arms around him)
CADOC: You know I'm terrible at dancing. I don't remember the last time I danced.
AVA: I'll teach you. Keep your arms here .(moves his hands onto her hip) Then just draw a box with your feet as you move.
We looked at each other. Her eyes seemed to drill to my soul when I looked in them. The music slowly toned down and the only thing I could hear was her giggles as I spun her. I felt we were the only people dancing in the hall. I was lost in her gaze. In the deep green pools of her eyes.
AVA: You know Cadoc, I was dreaming of the day I would be alone with you without Papa being around. Sometimes I wish we would run off and never return so I'll forever remain with you. I'm wishing for a day when everyone accept you the way I do.
I could see how her eyes searched me for an answer to her wish.
CADOC: I...really wish I wouldn't leave you.(pause)I wish going away is just a bad dream. (pause)
AVA: You're the only thing wish for Cadoc. But I can't have the one thing I need the most?
She crushed me into her embrace. She was sobbing as she buried her head in my chest.
CADOC: I'll prove I'm worthy of your love. Then I'll steal you away from your sorrows.(pause)
She raised up her glistening eyes toward mine and her face lit up with a smile.
AVA: I'll wait my love. I'll wait for the day I'll never dread the empty and cold nights. The day all my fears and nightmares would dissappear when I see you again.
