The masked girl (chapter 5: The toy story)
It was almost 10PM by the time they reached Varma mansion. Everyone except Dev and Abhi were awake and were waiting for them. As the doorbell rang, a tall and thin girl in night dress opened the door.
She introduced herself with a smile."Hi Anu, I'm Priya." Anu smiled back and said hi to her. The driver came in with Anu's luggage. Sumitra instructed him to put them in Priya's room.
Anu walked in slowly.
Everyone sat down together.
They were speaking about many things related to Anu and Dev's childhood and Vijay and Vinod's friendship.
Sumitra said , "the teddy for which you used to fight with your brother and keep teasing him was gifted by her. He never let's anyone touch that Anu. " Anu couldn't do anything other than smile as she didn't know which teddy she was speaking of.
"Yeah.... the teddy is his best friend even now and he shares every secret with it. It has so many secrets within that it may explode anytime. He gives it a bath every month." added Priya and giggled.
Amar then pointed out towards a photo on the wall and asked ,"Anu, do you have that bunny?" Anu hadn't noticed that photo a it was behind her. Surya and Amar were sitting on a sofa, Vijay, Vinod and another man were standing behind them. Jahnavi(Anu's mom) and Sumitra were beside their respective husbands holding Dev and Anu respectively. Anu was having a colorful bunny with her and Dev, a pink teddy.
Looking at that bunny Anu said, "it's my favorite uncle. In fact, I carry it everywhere I go. It's in my suitcase now. "
"Ah.....The typical toy friends" said Mallika and everyone laughed.
Just then, Vijay got a message looking at which he smiled and said," Dad, Vikas will be home by tomorrow evening." Amar nodded his head with a smile. "The man between Vinod and me is Vikas Anu, my younger brother." continued Vijay pointing towards the photo. Anu looked at the photo and smiled.
"Anu and Priya, go to bed kids. You have classes tomorrow. " said Sumitra. Both of them nodded their head and went up the stairs.
They went to the first floor and she found two doors side by side and another on the opposite side. "This is Abhi's room and this is ours" said Priya pointing towards the left and right doors one after the other. Then, she pointed towards the room on the opposite side and said, "that's Dev bhai's room." Anu looked around and they went into their room.
The room was neither too big nor too small. It had a double bed by the window on one side and a study table with a laptop and a table lamp on the other. The dressing table was neatly set beside the washroom and a closet was beside it. It was a perfect room.
Priya asked her about her course and Anu told them all. Upon hearing everything, Priya said," we both belong to the same class. We have a practical class in the morning. Just complete these 4 pages of write up. If you don't, you'll get screwed up. Though you are a new admission, the technician won't excuse you.His screws are slightly loose.We can slowly set everything else in this week." and she passed on her notes.
Anu wanted to finish that work immediately, so that they will not have to rush the next day. She finished it within 20 minutes and they both went off to sleep within half an hour.
