This title is take from the book of 2 Peter 3:18. When we look at it very well, it specify whose grace and knowledge we are to grow in.
That is, we should not just grow in grace and knowledge but the one that is of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ.
Remember, that the prince of this world(devil) is using every thing he has to deceive men. People are now doing wrong things as though they were right.
The devil is now using men to create different platforms, ideas, methods to end that men go out of the ways of God.
Now because he understands men weaknesses, he then use it against them. A nomal man will not know this things are wrong. A man with culture, moral, principles can not overcome this trick of the devil. Remember Ephesians 6 : 12 says "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." So not tell me, how do a nomal man intend to fight spiritual with the phisical?
Romans 8:5 says "For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. So, for you to be able to overcome the prince of this world, you need to have the power to overcome him.
Listen carefully, the prince of this world also has his own power because according what we know, the knowledge and power he had was not taking from him. But, he does not have all the power and knowledge of this world. The power and knowledge of this world was only known and hidden in only our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. 1Corithians 2:7 - 11 "But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God."
Some people run after the power of this world to overcome this world. They've forgotten that the bible says in Mark 3:26-27 "And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house." You cannot use the power of the devil to overcome the devil. You can only use the power that is greater than his to overcome him. And this power can only be found in Jesus Christ.
Know this that, Revelation 20:2 - 3 says "And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, and cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season." That is, when the end comes, the devil will be bound and cast away.
Now you see that the devil has no power. We can only find power in Christ Jesus. Matthew 28:18 says "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth." All power will fade away. Only the power of Jesus Christ will remain. Hebrews 1:10 - 13 says "And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
I bring this to your understanding so that you can know that it is only in Christ Jesus your salvation lies. If you know, you are not in Christ Jesus, this is the right time to come to him. You now know that only him God gave the power in heaven and in earth. Why not come to him. He said in John 12:32 "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me." And now we all know he has been lifted and he has drawn you to himself by dieing for you sin. But the only problem is, if a house was given to a man and the man refuse to acknowledge that the house now belong to him, that house will not be for the man except the man accept the house as his. Same thing applies to You being save. John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." So until you believe that Jesus Christ died for you sin Confess him as your Lord and personal saviour, until then before you can be save. That is when you can now say you are the son of God because you are now born again.
Now that you are now born again, you now need to grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. So as to know him more and not be shifted from your salvation.
