I was emotionally down and was loaded in my head with silence then all of a sudden i took a good look at Mike and he was also drown into his own world too.

Are you alright Mike? I asked
We been in the car for five minutes
You not driving. I added

Mike looked at me with a serious face and said I dont know what to say but, then he looked at me and paused.

What? I asked looking for an immediate response
Are we not going to see dad?

The hospital called this morning.... there was a pause.

Yeah and? I asked confusingly

He passed away. Mike replied.

Dad passed away? I repeated shockingly.
My eyes were wide open as if I didn't know this day was going to come.

"You need to calm down ok".

Drive the car now, I need to go see him, I cried out with panic.

Now Mike! I said while grabbing his clothes

Am afraid I can't. Mike replied in a soft voice while trying to move my hands from his clothes

Why? I asked bitterly while moving my hands from his shirt

Listen I want you to go back to your house and get a good rest and leave the rest to me ok.

If you wont drive, get off and let me drive or you want me to get in my car. I said in annoyance

But you ca...

"No I need to see his body, where is my dad". I started shouting in the car. "Take me to the hospital now!". I cut him off

He looked at me with a silent treatment like I was talking a whole rubbish.

You know what, let me just get off and get my car. As I was about to open the car door, Mike grabbed me and said in a soft voice Shantel I am here for you and always will.
Come on look at me, He said while holding my chin so I can look him in the eyes. He moved forward to wrap his other hand around me. Please Let me go and collect the death certificate and other documents we need ok. There is no point to go there especially with how upset you are. It's only gonna get worst

I couldn't believe I had go and see Leo over seeing my dad yesterday, I thought to myself as I was sobbing around the arms of Mike.

Go and sleep ok. I will order some food to your address few minutes yeah. Mike said

My blood was boiling and my temperament was raising to the climax.

I let go off Mike's arms and took my phone out when i heard the notification. As soon I opened my message, there was Leo's text.

LEO's message
Dont play games with me you know
I am warning you for the last, give me back my ring or you will hate me to death.

As soon as I read that message, I immediately dash out my phone as hard as I can on the car floor and walked out aggressively.

I want Leo to touch me if he can. He knows my house so let him try me.

Shantel, what's wrong with you for God sake.
Mike shouted inside the car.

Just leave me alone! I shouted

I went straight to my house which was 3 metres away from Mike's car.

Shantel is becoming a nightmare. I don't understand what is wrong with her I thought while reaching for the phone's broken pieces.

As I was seated in my car, I was trying to contemplate what was going on that made her destroy her phone.

Whatever text she read or whatever that she had going on was just mystery. This cant only be her father's death.

One way or the other, I knew trying to follow her to her house wont be the smartest ideas.

She needed time to calm down.

I drove off to the hospital to sort things out.


What a busy day. I sighed walking closer to my girlfriend Wendy's direction.

Wendy is tall, brunette and curvy.

She had on a see through dress with a bit of clevage out like she going to a club.

How is the hospital visit? Wendy said comming closer to me with a kiss

I looked a her for a good 1.seconds before leaning forward for her kiss. I wondering where she was going from her house with that dress.

Was alright but I wanted you to meet Shantel, the daughter of my foster dad.

I know right maybe when am a bit free. You know the nature of my work.
I looked at wendy a bit disappointedly.

Wendy is a nurse and is called to cover shift most of the time but the fact that she chooses work over my family is a problem.

Oh just wanted to dress up a bit. She said in a lower voice

Wendy looked at me with a concerned look on her face.
So what are the plans she said trying to sit down. Two years and we still havent got married. She added

"I understand but I need sometime, my foster dad just passed away and am trying to recover". "I promise it wont take long".


Wendy replied, you know how this means a lot to me and I understand what your going through.

I don't know why wendy doesnt have the patient. Seems like she is stuck up in her ways. She needs to support me through this hard time. Getting married is not even in my mind right now I thought to myself.

Can we go and grab something to eat? I interuppted the Intial conversation.


Sure. Why not. Wendy grabbed her jacket and we headed off.
