Let's talk Classic - Ramany vs Ramany
I apologize for incessant ranting you are going to witness in the first paragraph
Today's content in Indian television serials are filled with illogical tropes, vampish stereotypes, and ridiculous concepts, totally unbearable to tolerate and unnerving to watch. It is like the story cannot stoop further low and regressive. The sad part after commercialization of television is that the daily content producing strategy increased, paving way to the TRP business, with little to no attention to the core story executed. It has exceeded a level of saturation point and sure has touched rock bottom. I understand the "If you don't like it, don't watch it" phrase, yeah I am very meticulously doing that. But what is disheartening to see is the message that it passes to a wider set of audience, with provocative and outdated perspectives on people psychotically and dangerously plotting against each other, the performances of artists going overboard with all the eye-rolling, glycerin and make-up malfunction. The creativity has dwindled so much, that there is zero effort being put on deciding the names of the serials too, randomly naming it after famous movies and songs. I am starting to think if they are doing it deliberately to ruin the legacy of such soulful movies and songs. The move is extremely pathetic at best. In one of the serials, my aunt was watching, the story is directly taken from a celebrated 80's movie, where a man cheats both of his wives, and ditches the one who has a dark skin colour and minimal education. I seriously think there are a lot of things egregiously wrong with this, promoting all of the bad stuff like infidelity and polygamy. It is high time we change that and I don't think it will even move an inch for another 20 years, as it has already been that long, since the origin of such serials.
Now enough of me ranting about all this (No offense involved to all the people involved in the television industry presently. I am pissed with the content, not the people). Let's rekindle with more pleasanter times, the so called 90's era, which all the millennials and generation x people are bragging about. I have to say that the adoration and obsession over the past is surreal and...
