THE ONE LEGGED BALLERINA

There was once a wooden ballerina in an antique shop. The wooden ballerina had brown eyes, cropped black hair, a brown nose, wore a bright pink dress and pink shoes, it had a key in it’s back and when you turned it danced and twirled to the tune of the song twinkle twinkle little star. The owner of the antique shop was very proud of the ballerina and polished it often and displayed it at the very entrance of his shop.

Whiles packing up his toys and other collections to close up his shop like he did every evening, the owner of the shop was carrying one too many items at a time and the ballerina fell from his arms and one of it’s legs broke. He tried his very best to fix it back but couldn’t, he tried ordinary glue, super glue and wax but still couldn’t fix the ballerina’s leg. With a heavy heart he packed up the ballerina and put it in the back of his shop

Some time passed by and it was time for spring cleaning so the owner of the shop invited his granddaughter Maria to help him out. Maria found the ballerina when she was cleaning out the back of the shop

“ Grandpa look at this ballerina, she’s beautiful, what happened to her leg?” Maria asked

“It fell one night when I was packing and I’ve tried to fix it since then but nothing worked. You can just throw it out” he replied

Maria looked at the ballerina carefully and wound the key in the back and watched the ballerina dance even though one of it’s legs were broken

“ it still works grandpa please can I keep it, she’s simply beautiful “ Maria said

So Maria took the ballerina home and even though it was now one legged, she would stare lovingly at it each night when she would wound the key and watch it dance over and over again.

The End.
