49#. Why do we strive for perfection if it is not attainable?
Why do we strive for perfection if it is not attainable? Perfection itself does not exist. It is just the current perfect scenario in our minds, a story that we imagine, depicting how we want reality to be. But reality does not ask for our opinion; it simply exists, independent of people's perceptions. Perfection is not attainable because reality differs from the idealized version within our minds. Perfection changes based on the situation. When we achieve the current perfection, the mind conjures up a new perfect reality, substituting the old one. Since perfection is constantly being replaced with another scenario, it remains unattainable. Instead of constantly seeking perfection, we should aim to do things well and be content with less. The answer lies in minimalism. To have only as much as we can actually handle. A huge need for perfection leads to stress, and the attachment is based on controlling other things and even other people. We should know how to let things go.
