"Meenakshi is not our biological daughter. We've adopted her...." saying this, Gayathri's voice begins to tremble.

Ravi holds her hand and continues.

Ravi: "Our 8 year old son was in extreme depression after our daughter was still born. After a few days, he'd seen a 6 year old girl in the road. She was being bullied by a few boys. He managed to rescue her only to realise that she was an orphan. He brought her home and gave her the name and love he wanted to give his sister. From then on, she became the most precious and the most  beautiful part of our family. None of us actually like to tell anyone about this. But, since she has got married to your son and you are supporting her at every step, we felt it is important to tell this to you."

After saying all this in one strech, Gayathri and Ravi keep staring at Arjun and his family waiting for their reply.

Rajveer replies with a smile.

Rajveer: "It doesn't matter to us. What matters to us is only that she is now an independent and well mannered child. For us, she is your daughter and Maanas's sister. As far as we know, Meenu is just perfect for Arjun."

Gayathri and Ravi feel extremely elated.

In Arjun's room....
Pruthvi: "Meenu... what are you here for? Let's go to your room and study"

Meenakshi:  "This is my room..."

Pruthvi: "Oh...! So are you ready for this marital life?"

Meenakshi: "I didn't mean to say that.... I previously stayed in this room every time I was here. So, I came to this room unknowingly... Let's shift my stuff to some other.... "

She was sounding low as if in despair.

Maanas barges into the room cutting their conversation.

Maanas: "Meenu... what's on your mind?"
Meenakshi: "Nothing...."

Maanas: "I know you better than anyone else in the world. I understand you've made a decision. I want to know what it is and why you've opted for it."

Meenakshi: "I expected the question. Okay, let me answer it as well....  I'm willing to accept my fate coz dad likes Arjun. You found him to be decent enough. And last but not the least, I won't have to stay away from Pruthvi this time...."

Pruthvi:  "Meenu... don't make hasty decisions....."

Meenakshi: "It's alright. I don't want to think much.... what I know is that I've accepted my fate and this life. I just need time till I graduate. I  will try to understand Arjun only after that.... Since I've already made the decision, I want both of you to stand with me.... Please don't cross question me for one last time." 

"How about my brother then? Have you forgotten your three year love story....? You said you will meet my brother on a date exactly 6 months away from today, to discuss your marriage, right?" said a voice standing at the door.

Everyone turn towards the voice.

Who is this person and whom is he/she speaking about??? Why doesn't Meenakshi like getting seperated from Pruthvi? What is their relation??
