"I'll miss you so much. I can't wait to get married to you on your next leave when you come here," she said, making a cute, sad face and holding his hand tightly.

"Just you wait," he replied with a mischievous twinkle in his eye, gently squeezing her hand. "I'll be back before you know it. And when I do, we'll have that wedding you've been planning in your dreams. Get ready for the most epic proposal ever!" His eyes twinkled with hope and dreams as he spoke.

She managed a weak smile, her heart torn between hope and despair. The nearing separation weighed heavily on them both, yet his playful tease brought a brief moment of lightness to their heavy hearts.

Months passed in a blur of longing and uncertainty. Letters exchanged between distant lands carried their hopes and fears. She clung to his promises, the image of his return engraved in her mind like a beacon in the storm.

Then came the day she dreaded. A uniformed officer stood at her door, bearing news that shattered her world. She rushed to the familiar place, a place of comfort and happiness now turned into the memories of him where they had last parted, tears streaming down her face as reality sank in.

"This wasn't how our story was supposed to end. What about the promise we made? What about the future we planned? You can't leave me here all alone. Please, don't do this. Please wake up, please.....she cried, tears filling her eyes as she hugged him tightly. She kissed his face for the last time, knowing it was the final farewell on this earth, until they would meet again.

She watched with emotionless eyes as the earth began to claim her love, leaving her clutching memories of an ending she couldn't rewrite.
