Is it really worth it?
(Lilian's P.O.V)
Why was I picked for this, couldn't they see I wasn't a good fit for this group. Or couldn't they see with any amount of threatening I wouldn't want to help Slenderman or Zalgo. I clutched the book to my chest as we all walked in silence, I recalled the horror I saw in that house. Red all over, their bodies lying limp on the forest floor, it was my fault. I got ripped away by Dandelion tugging my hand.
"Dear, are you ok?" She asked, my heart stopped right there when she said 'Dear'.
"Everything's fine Dandelion" I quickly said, pushing away from her perhaps a little too rudely.
"What's up?" Josef asked when I got up to where he was, he still looked troubled from what he saw in that cottage.
"What did you see?" I asked, changing subject. I thought it would be Slenderman or something like that but to my surprise it was his past. Well he did have it pretty rough sometimes, but still Slenderman is scary he's like a fucking demon.
"Huh, thought it would be Slenderman" I said
"When I first went there I thought that too," he said.
"What did you see?" He questioned, looking over to me.
"You guys are dead" I summed it up to as little as possible.
"Hmmm, you know when I first got to that place right out of hell I thought you tried to kill me" he laughed, I laughed as well getting nervous.
"Now, mind telling me why you let me go?" I stayed quiet
"I was scared" I said not wanting to to say much or go into depth
"Oh come on, the Lil I know isn't scared of anything" Josef said, side eyeing me, it was like he knew why I did he just wanted me to say it. I was about to say the reason when we heard a bloody scream. Dandelion ran off to where we heard it with Arline running after. Josef looked at me giving me a look that said 'We'll talk later' and then ran to catch up to them. I followed quickly, we all ran to where that dreaded scream came from. When I got to them everyone was standing still, shocked. I walked beside Josef to see what happened. There, in front of us was the dead body of a little boy. I was horrified by the sight, Josef was a little less scared and walked up touching the body.
"Josef, what the hell are you doing!" Dandelion yelled, still glaring at the dead body. Josef ignored her and turned the body over so we could see the face.
"Hm, no blood anywhere on his body" he said almost as if he was interested in the murder. Well he's probably investigating the murder because he wanted to be a detective or something. Arline glared at Josef as if he was crazy and completely insane.
"Did Slenderman mess you up that much" Arline commented, he was grossed out by how normal Josef was acting.
"Living with a bunch of murderers, ghosts, and demons can do that to you" Josef laughed. I stared at the body feeling like I've seen the way he's been murdered. Then it hit me, that monster killed him. My heart caught in my throat that second, I didn't actually think they'd be involved but know they definitely are. Is this mission really worth having a demon trying to kill me?
