Debunking Myths About Introverts
Debunking Myths About Introverts
(⬇️Challenge at the bottom⬇️)

There are a lot of misconceptions about introverts. It adds a comedic effect to writing or animations when you dramatize aspects of an introvert's personality, but some people take the joke too seriously. Here's a list of untrue perceptions either I or friends have come across.

Myth #1: All introverts are depressed.
I realize that depression is real, and it's increased in this world a lot the past few years. But introverted is not another word for depressed. Some have it, some don't. And I'm sure that plenty of extroverts have depression as well.

Myth #2: Introverts have no friends.
I love when a conversation with a stranger sounds like this:
Me - "Yeah, I'm an introvert."
Stranger - "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, oh you poor thing! Are you lonely? Do you need friends? You can friend request me if you want."
Me - "Actually, I have friends."
Stranger - "You have friends?? But I thought you said you're introverted!"
Yes, people. I have friends.

Myth #3: Introverts are emotionless.
I as an introvert sometimes have difficulty expressing my emotions. I can get exited, but not often, and not outwardly. I promise you, I am truly sorry about your dog dying. I'm just crying on the inside.

Myth #4: All introverts have no social skills.
I myself have no social skills. I have trouble just maintaining eye contact with people. But not all introverts are like that. I know many introverts that come with an introvert battery but can still talk to people like a normal person.

Myth #5: All introverts are single and they can't love.
Um. Actually. They can. How do you think there's still introverts on this Earth today? Maybe they can't express their emotions in public, and maybe not all introverts express love physically, but I promise you that your introverted significant other does love you. Their emotions are all in their heart.

Myth #6: Introverts hate people.
Actually, to be honest, I really love people. I love seeing the uniqueness and diversity among the people around me, and I enjoy seeing so many different personalities. I just have a social battery the size of a raisin. Maybe a few introverts are haters, but not all.

Myth #7: All introverts have glasses.
I'm not helping my case because I have glasses. But I know plenty of introverted people who are not four-eyes.

Any fellow introverts relate?
