Beyond the shores (Chapter six)
So the weeks spent on that magical island were filled with loads of memorable tours of historical places, beautiful resorts, white sandy beaches, cultural shows, food festivals and theaters.
Lorna took lots of pictures. There were so many fun activities to do and so many wonderful people she met. Oh that feeling she once knew started coming back.
During dinner one night Sione stared fixedly at Lorna without realizing it. He was lost in his thoughts once again.
He saw Lorna in a completely different way. A strange longing growing deep inside.
She hadn't changed much he thought but she was more matured this time and extremely beautiful than he last saw her.
Her infectious smile, her poise and beauty caught his attention.
He heard about her sacrifices, her stories and passion for reaching out to the illiterate and admired her even more.
But all of these things came after, he knew he loved her before and he loved her still.
How amazing he thought that distance couldn't come between his love and his hopes of seeing her again.
"Earth to Sione,"...Hullo?"
Lorna flicked her fingers in Sione's face.
"Wake up," she smiled.
"What? Oh I'm sorry, what were you saying?"
"Let's go for a walk on the beach, just you and I," Lorna suggested.
"Just like the old days.
As if she read his thoughts, Sione was glad followed after her without hesitation.
This was it. He was going to finally tell her how he felt. He was not letting this opportunity go, knowing that there were only few days before Lorna and her lovely family would be leaving.
"I'll race you down to the beach!," she challenged him and off she ran as fast as she could.
But Sione was too fast for her and soon caught up with her.
Just as he got closer, Lorna's foot got caught on a piece of broken branch and she felt herself falling.
Before she could fall, Sione reached out and caught her in his arms.
They bought gazed into each others eyes and saw nothing but unexplainable love.
Well that was the night they both confessed their innermost feeling under the moolight on that white sandy beach while the waves crashed on the shores.
