Write a story based on this famous excerpt from The Night Slowly Came by Kate Chopin:

I am losing my interest in human beings; in the significance of their lives and their actions. Someone has said it is better to study one man than ten books. I want neither books nor men; they make me suffer…

He sat, staring at the drawn curtain in front of the closed window, inside his empty one room studio apartment. There was no point in opening the curtain, for directly outside was a solid brick wall, that stood 30 ft higher than the top of his window frame. He had experienced much, and regarded himself as someone who had lived life to the fullest. All his years embedded in society had brought him to a single solitary conclusion about the existence he was fated to live. Pain was the common factor in all the interwoven threads of everyday life. The ultimate truths and the harshest lies are usually closely gaurded by the keepers of the minutes, the people who document in books and magazines, the ones who assumed they could affect change with words. Peirft Perot was his pseudo name, from a time before the here and now, back when the concept of fitting in had made sense to him. He has since drawn into seclusion, he is searching and hiding in the same place, stuck in moments of memories of back when the univers made more sense. Empty bookshelves hold but 2 book ends with not a single page in between. Peirft felt as if he was finally living a full life, for he had found a way to escape his own broken pain. People's words and written statement often times left more questions, inside his mind, than did pure silence.
He was free of obligations others had, and he was grateful for his freedom.
He had learned to create happiness and inner peace alone.
He had turned the phrase a house into a home, into his truest reality, everything he ever dreamed he wouldn't be able to achieve.

He sighed, smiled as a single tear ran down his cheek, quitley he apoligized under his breath to the only one that had ever mattered to him, " I'm sorry for how I've forsaken you" he said as
he pulled the trigger

THE END
