Thinking back to my childhood, I remember many stories I heard from my grandmother, mother, and cousins. Ghost stories are especially captivating when there’s a power outage. I remember my friends and I gathering together to talk about ghosts on dark nights, with cool winds and, of course, clouds that made everything seem even darker. The atmosphere we felt at those times was unforgettable. Talking about ghosts was all fun—until you went to bed that night, thinking about it the whole time, feeling afraid.

The Thrill of Ghost Stories in the Dark

One evening, we were playing when the power suddenly went out. My friends and I ended up gathering near a car, sitting around, and chatting about ghost stories. Then, a girl who was a bit older than us joined and said, “I’ll tell you real ghost stories.” We were excited – we had only been talking about ghost movies, but now we’d get to hear real tales!

We let her sit in the middle, and everyone got quiet. The road was empty, there was no power, and we were all in a corner, listening. The atmosphere became intense, and her stories gave us chills. I kept asking myself, Do these things really happen? I even felt a bit sad for the people in those ghost stories. That night, it was as if we were completely lost in another world.

Just as she kept telling stories, a dog suddenly started barking, “Bow-wow!” It was like the dog had seen a ghost and was warning us. We all jumped, scared out of our minds. I still remember that mini heart attack we all got. Then, out of nowhere, the power came...
