Half Moon [Chapter 2]
I sighed as Kyte rested his head ontop of mine, and Vannor tried to hide his amusement. Perhaps it was best to take him with me after all, even if it meant leaving behind a city that he had called home for the last decade or so.
"Fine. You two win for now, but don't think this is the end of it." I warned, glaring at Vannor, as I tried to remove myself from Kyte's grasp. It was a futile attempt, unless I wanted to physically push him away.
I sighed. "Kyte?" I felt him flinch in response, but he held on tighter instead. "Kyte, Sweetie, could you let go of me, please? This is uncomfortable."
Kyte reluctantly let me go, but I could still feel his eyes staring down Vannor from behind me. I watched with a critical eye as the master vampire began to shake, and sighed again. Was this something related to youth? Truthfully, I would've thought Vannor was beyond such things at his age...
"It would appear that you haven't lost that twisted sense of humor of yours over the years."
Vannor shrugged and gave me a toothy grin. "As if you're the one to talk."
I laughed in spite of myself. "Very true!"
Kyte's low growl echoed from behind me, bringing our conversation up short. Vannor's lips twist in amusement.
