My little friend

She never liked much sunlight, she never loved being seen, she made it her mission to be unknown.
Matilda always had a little doll with her, she always had her hair in a pony tail, her laughter's always had a sort of echo about them, but who would question that at the time.
Mother disappeared one-day, the same day her and I had a little fight, I mean every 12 year old has those little misunderstandings with their moms sometimes, but still she was nowhere to be found. As guilt ridden as I was she kept smiling standing in the kitchen. She said, "remember to wipe that blood of your shoes", I looked at her afraid to even look at my shoes as it may have been mother's blood.
Finally I got the courage to look at the boots, filled with blood, I was astonished by this as I did not recall having placed any blood there,
then she looked at me and said, " she had to go, she was arguing with u right".

I tried to explain how everything actually occured but her stubbornness made it all in vain. I tried asking what she did to mother, with so much fear that I had gears in my eyes, she looked at me with pity and told me to not worry, everything had been taken care off. when I entered mom's room that night, her favourite gown was on the bed, her famous slippers on the floor and Dad was no where to be found, everything seemed normal at first, but Jen mother got out of the shower she was acting different, much like she was a different person with her original face. There was a scared on her neck, the kind which happens when your throat gets slit off, but it couldn't have been so, she was alive, she was still breathing like us all.
Nothing really felt right in that house, father's presence was not felt either. My family changed that day, The little girl nextdoor, she never visited my residence since then. Her family was never known in my neighborhood, yet she still whispers in my ear everytime I close my eyes.
