If only words were bullets
Filled with love and empathy
When you got shot instead of pain
You’d fall in love with me

Imagine if you can
A nuclear bomb of love
Instead of radiation
Flowers fell down from above

When people mugged each other
They gave each other gifts
A box of chocolates, teddy bears
And nobody got hit

Alas the world ain’t like that
The suffering here is real
The gritty gray reality
Our shoulders to the wheel

To look behind the curtain
You first must meet your death
That way you can’t go telling folk
What they’ve got coming next

So nature or some higher power
They put in place a veil
A neuro-cosmic blanket
When we try to peep we fail

So wouldn’t this life be better lived
By being good hearted and kind
It’s all over in the blink of an eye
The older you get the faster
you’ll find

There’s no ‘minute warning’ saying it’s time to die
There’s no flashing lights that say ‘ times up now number five ’

When it’s your turn that’s it the end
You can’t bargain with death
Thy will be done, like anyone
You’ll soon run out of breath
