Cats and no mouse
The house was beautiful with its owners busy in work whole day, leaving the house under care of three cats. The Alpha of the group, was a lanky guy with most handsome features. His demeanor reminded me of a czar or a general with a sensitive pique. Very playful with the fuzzy balls taken off from a party hat, his paws balancing everything gracefully like Ronaldo's feet. When I got into this house, he came, checked on me, rubbed against me, sat inside my suitcase, allowed me some petting too. But I could sense his eyes at my back all the time, he was observing me, as if I was a friend or a foe. I respected his judgement and like a loyal attendant, didn't bother him unnecessarily. He was fussy with his food and treats and I just couldn't impress him. I accepted my defeat.

Then came the joker of the house. Sister of the czar, who was nothing like him. She was playful from the beginning, not fussy about anything, okay with petting and cuddling, had no judgement but crazy about treats. She was my best bud but I knew her intentions. We all slept together on one bed, with Czar choosing his place first and then the crazy sister getting in middle of everything. She was pampered one, always purring and making biscuits and carrying looks that could melt anyone. A perfect drama cat and everyone's favourite toy.

Then I came across the mystery cat. Not even distant cousin of the Czar and the Joker. Just like Cinderella, she lived in the basement in her own world. When she knew that I was in that house, she had to check on me. So I could see her looking at me from distance, peeping through the railing, behind the doors, sitting inside my handbag or rolling on my jewellery. She reminded me of the gorgeous Maharani of Jaipur who loved exquisite clothes and jewellery. I called her name everyday and tried to be friends with her, but she maintained a distance. Only when it was my time to leave, she started getting a little closer to me, taking treats directly from my hand, sneaking into our joint bed and playing with balls. Maharani loved to watch TV and somehow I sensed an affinity with her. All the time I stayed in the house, I didn't touch her, but still I knew that she was my friend and that our meeting was destined.

This was my first time living in experience with cats and I adored it. I got to learn a lot about them and I saw how loyal and grateful they were to their owners. I miss all three dearly and wish to see them as soon as possible. I hope they remember me too.
