STRONG PEOPLE CRY TOO
As humans, we all encounter diverse issues of life that are capable of weighing us down. The fact that some people have mastered the art of suppressing the effects of such issues doesn’t mean they are immune from the pain that comes thereby. Also, the fact that we all have personal issues does not relieve us of the duty to care for others and their needs on all fronts.

Those we regard as strong people cry too.

We may look up to them to receive help, to the end that our tears be wiped. They meet our needs, but let out their own tears behind veils, at night, when they are all alone.

Those to whom they offer their shoulders tend to forget that they are humans too, and also subject to the same pains they help people bear. In order not to weaken your faith in them, they appear before your eyes all the time like all is well; and if you fail to deliberately pay keen attention, you may never realize how vulnerable or susceptible they are to pain.

We really need to become deliberate about considering and caring for those we look up to, or those who appear strong on the outside. Folks like our parents, leaders and everyone set above us. They surely have challenges too, but may never open up if we keep failing to regard them as humans.

For those who are strong, and those who bear everyone’s burdens, there is no need dying with all that strength. In fact, part of being strong is admitting that on account of your humanity, you are predisposed to weaknesses at intervals.

Those who open up are not weak people. They have only realized how to express their strength by sharing their burdens, instead of suffering or even dying in silence.

We need to talk to, and with people we trust, especially those who may have worn the shoes we wear. It is still true that a problem shared is half solved.

However, we must be discreet with regards to the choice of who we share our problems with; so as not to fall into more problems while seeking solutions to existing ones.

In all, let us be humane; let us have one another at heart.

Let our shoulders help carry each other’s burdens.

This is how to live. This is how to keep the spirit of brotherhood alive.
