Technical Drummer
Not everyone notices the Drummer of a band. No one will ever forget me.

I started to play the drums when I got a drum kit for my tenth birthday. From that day on I was in love. The beat filled my soul with pure joy. Every swing of my sticks gave me life and that was it. Nothing mattered except the rhythm or the drums. TV and computers went out of my mind and the only things that stopped me from playing were eating drinking and school.

After one year of playing, I had a level of skills-building up. Being like this made school hard. The other kids started to give me a wide birth. looking back it was down to my hygiene. like I said nothing got in the way of playing. Washing wasn't a priority. To save time I would sleep in my clothes. So the other kids would shout mean things spit kick and punch me if they could stand the smell.

Another year and one boy came to my attention. Well, I didn't know it was a boy at first. It was the deep rumbling notes of a bass guitar. The sound found me a pulled me to an open classroom window. I watched as his fingers plucked and pressed making each note-perfect. His speed and dexterity was beautiful sight. That was the moment I knew we had to start a band and the day I met my best friend.

Lee Strife. He was about as popular as I was so he thought learning to play an instrument would make him look cool. In theory, he was right but like a drummer, you are often overlooked. To be a cool member you need to play lead guitar or be a singer. One of the members of a band that is front and centre stage. Not at the rear or off to one side. That is where we were going to be. Well, that is if I wasn't the one putting the band together.

Lee was a quiet lad at first. I couldn't be sure if it was my smell that was keeping him away from me or the reputation that had grown with my stench. When he saw there was no one around he took my hand that was offered.

"You play great. You're a bit off the beat but that can be fixed with a drummer. It just so happens that I know one. Me."

"Yeah, shame no one can share a stage with you. You have heard of soap, right?"

I had to laugh. Lee wasn't looking sure if I was going I give him a smack for his cheek or not. When I laughed he smiled.

"Yeah I have but who has time for that when I'm going to rule the music industry one day. What do you say are you going to come to the top with me?"

That was the start of my band. We needed one more member at least but that was going to take time to find our next member.
