Her Own Hero (Chapter 5)
The next week was just filled with practice. Two hours and thirty minutes of basketball practice every day and two hours of talemt show practice every other day. The worst part is coach was getting stricter and somehow scarier. "We're doing scrimmage, losing team runs three laps around the football field". "Miss your free throw, twenty push-ups". Mel would come home drenched in sweat, dreading the fact that she still had to practice for the talent show, which was now in one week.
At the end of practice on Friday, Bella tried to talk to Mel (again). "I heard about Kathy", Mel glared at Bella. "Ok, so what", she responded, not wanting another pitying look. "Well, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry about it, I know you two are really good friends". Mel picked up her backpack, "Well, life just sucks doesn't it", and she was off.
When she arrived home, Mel opemed the fridge to find some leftover pizza from the day before. "Beep Beep Beep Beeeep". She opened her notebook, she hadn't written in it for a week, but ignoring it wasn't going to change anything. She pulled out her pencil, and just began to write.
The girl is lying on the floor, with Larry in her arms, crying. The man walks towards her, gun in hand. "You're gonna regret that". She grabs a large, glass shard and throws it at him, stabbing him in the stomach. Her arm begins to sting, she then realizes, she's been shot. Feeling hopeless, she tries to get up, but just as she finally does... BEEP BEEP BEEP.
"Stupid microwave, things were just getting good", Mel put her notebook to grab the pizza. As soon as she put it down, she devoured the whole thing. "Just a few more days of this torment and I'll be free", she thought. Her phone then buzzed. She picked it up and saw it was a text from Kathy. "Let's see. If this is more bad news, I'll literally throw the phone at the wall". HI MEL I NEED HELP WITH SOMETHING. What could Kathy possibly need help with, she's never asked Mel for help with homework before. WHAT, She responded. IM PLANNING ON HAVING A GOING AWAY PARTY AT THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR BUT I WANT IT TO BE BIG AND FUN. I KNOW THERS STILL WEEKS LEFT BUT COULD U HELP ME PLAN IT SOMETIME LATER😀😀😀.
SURE SOUNDS COOL 👌✌
The rest of the day went by fast, Mel finished her homework pretty quickly and had enough time left to watch one movie. She decided on Thor, it wasn't too long and it was her third favorite Marvel. Plus, she'd had a crush on Chris Hemsworth since she was nine. She made some microwave popcorn and took it down to her room. Turned on the TV and for the first time that year, all jer problems just melted away.
