Many people barely know the story behind Madam Efunsetan Aniwura the great Ibadan Legend whom during her lifetime every one was afraid of her.
Efunsetan was the second Iyalode in Ibadan and was known yo be one of the biggest slave trader in Ibadan.
History had it known that Efunsetan never had a children therefore it is a taboo for any of her female slaves to get pregnant not to giving birth. A female slave was said to have gotten pregnant but luck ran out of her when Efunsetan commanded her stomach should be cit and the foetus should be brought out.
Efunsetan Aniwura was a powerful woman whom everybody in Ibadan Land never tries to dare nor question her authority. She does what she likes and kills who tries to question her.
Efunsetan Aniwura adopted a son whom later hired two of her slaves to kill her in her sleep. At last the great Ibadan iyalode was killed in her sleep in 1874 and that makes the end of the wicked acts.
