JUST A HUG
"Please don't do it! " Grabbing his hand, I pulled him down from the bridge he was standing on.
His eyes had widen in shock which were closed before in probably acceptance. He stumbled a little from the force I used to pull him down. Coming face to face, I raised my hand and slapped him on the face.
He held his cheek with his left hand while his right hand fisted. His face flushing red in anger, opening his mouth to obviously shout at me but I stopped him before he could get a single word out.
"Do you think dying will solve every problem? Will it stop the pain you are feeling? Or will it make everything better? If yes then go ahead kill yourself. But before you do that think. Think real hard. Do you want your loved one's smile to be gone forever? Do you want them to feel empty just because you chose the easy way out leaving them alone to live with the feeling that they couldn't save you, that they couldn't understand the way you felt? Suicide doesn't take the pain away it only passes it to someone else. This isn't the answer to your problems. You have to face them instead of running away."
I was breathing heavily by the time I completed. My chest rising up and down. My nails digging into the palms of my hand as I fisted them hard.
The boy's jaw was open, on his face was surprise clearly baffled by what a stranger had just told him.
"I-I'm s-sorry... " He looked down. His hands hanging loosely at his sides.
I stepped closer and brought him in my arms because I knew at times like this just a simple and comforting hug is what it takes. His body stiffened but I didn't let go....
