A random thought.
Someone asked me a question. the question was "what is the difference between truth and fact? In regards to culture, is there an absolute truth? or truth is dependent on one's cultural beliefs and norms? if there such a thing as absolute truth can we attain it?"

the answer to what is felt is: The fact is that truth and fact are different even though they have always been treated as synonyms.

Fact by definition is something that has been substantiated by extensive research, calculations and is indisputable. They are even definite past occurrences. Where truth may not include facts or include very little. More often, truth is something that is believed widely among people of a group, a religion, or a community. People often accept something as truth because it fits their narrative or just because others believe them to be true. Even a lie believed by the masses can be established as truth.

So in conclusion, Facts are proved where truths are believed with some exceptions.

Exceptions are absolute truths.

Absolute truth refers to something(or a truth) unaffected by place, time, or circumstance. Something as true 1 million years ago as it is today and as it will be till the end. Something like all 8 planets revolving around one star called the sun. Absolute truths are not man-made. They are some things that were before men and will be after men. They do not seek men's approval, nor his acknowledgment. Hence, they can't be attained but can only be found or accepted upon encounter.

Absolute truth exists in all cultures. However, Every culture has its norms, beliefs and as much as they can't change them or affect them, they do affect how people perceive them and how they(people) treat them.

For instance, death is an absolute truth that none of the cultures Denise or anyway can affect and it is part of every culture and all the religions on earth. Though, every culture perceives it differently and reacts to it differently.

In some cultures due to their belief and religious norms, it is perceived as a beginning of a new cycle and in others, it is believed that there is an afterlife where some just perceive it as absolution: "A complete end".

In the end, I do not believe that there is "The" absolute truth. Rather, there are a bunch of them, either random or leading up to some big revelation.

I don't know if this is the right answer. Frankly, I don't even care because I am busy working for another absolute truth: "survival". But don't know why I can't stop thinking, wondering what this all means? What do we mean? It may be just a random thought but I feel it's though we all give a thought once in a while.

Do we really mean something?
