TANGLED
It was early in the morning, aaradhya woke up from the bed. Everyone was
sleeping. She has been preparing for the exam for her dream job. She switched on
the lights and started to study like her life was hanging on it. Her mother also woke
up, not from the light that her daughter turned on, but the stimulation of
motherhood bond. She made coffee for her daughter and placed it on her table. She
was deeply focused even the warmth of the coffee did not provoke her. Mother
made breakfast for her and left for her work. During the afternoon there was a maid
who would make her lunch. She used to come with her small boy. Aaradhya didn't
give any attention even to the cute little boy's smile. And at night time she only
slept when everyone was asleep. These routines continued till the exam day. When
the results came she came with flying colours. She started working, her family
started to find her a suitable boy. Marriage is over, now she is a family woman.
She had a daughter. Her work started to feel hectic with all the other things to
manage at home. Noone was giving attention to her, how hard she was trying to
cope with pressure from work and to put on a smiley face when she was home. On
a sunday afternoon after all the tiresome work she was relaxing in the lawn chair.
She then happened to remember her mom, when she made her coffee, breakfast
and all the little things she did that no one noticed. A teardrop fell from her eyes,
even before she started to swipe that away she heard her daughter calling MOM.
At the moment she realized being a woman is something that cannot be untangled.
