The cry was faint but I heard loud and clear it as I walked past the dark bushes. My steps faltered. It was late and I wasn’t sure if it was a smart thing to stop and inspect the source.With slow footsteps I started walking towards the voice.All bad thoughts going through my mind.When I finally reached behind the bushes I saw a faint figure crying out for help.Its was a middle aged man who was bit by a snake.At that moment he was in and out of consciousness.I was terrified by the sight.I quickly picked him up and took him to the car which was parked beside the roadside.I informed the car driver to drive fast to the nearby hospital.He started the car and we reached the hospital. He was immediately taken for further treatment and the hospital authority asked me to fill on the form for further procedures.I narrated the whole scene to the hospital authority.They then searched the belongings of the patients and got his personal details.Further they informed their relatives explain them the scenario and requested them to visit the hospital as soon as possible.A few hours later middle aged women with two children arrived at the enquiry desk. The desk staff informed them that the man is now out of danger.They also informed that I was the one who brought him to the hospital in the nick of time.With teary eyes the women thanked me for saving his life. I too got emotional and said there is no reason to thank me.I was grateful that i was albe to save a life.I said my goodbyes to the family and left the hospital.With a happiness that I have never felt beafore.
