- Chapter 1 -

They told him not to follow them, said he was too young still. He didn't listen. He never does.
So he followed them to the forest they were exploring, looking for the next target. She was hiding somewhere there, and they knew it. But where, they wondered.
"This is impossible!" Kyle finally shouted. "We'll never find her"
Afraid to agree, since the leader was still near, May nodded. Skye and her brother, Tom nodded as well.
"Hush! You'll give away our position!" Their leader, Cole, said in a hushed shout. But he agreed as well, knowing that the chances of them finding her would be too hard. She's been hiding from them for days. They'd only figured out her hide out mere hours ago. But finding the exact location was another story.
SNAP everyone turned around at the same time at the sound of a large stick break. Just Aron. The one to never listen.
"Aron! You scared us. What if we'd been found out??" Skye said angrily. Aron bowed his head and quietly apologized.
Cole then grabbed Aron's wrist and tugged him to the front of the group where he could be watched.
"And besides, we told you you can't come. You're too young and troublesome." He said coldly. Again, Aron remained looking down.
Deeper into the forest, they came to a broken down home that appeared to have been there before the forest grew. It seemed like even if a leaf feel the whole place would collapse.
"Okay, since you came without permission, Aron, you go in." Cole said, then he handed Aron of picture of who the target was. Aron nodded, though scared, he went inside.
Inside was dark, barely light peeking through the cracks in the ceiling. However, just enough to see. Past the door there was a simple living room, with a couple couches and a table in the middle. Two halls. One hall led to what seemed to be the bedrooms, the second seemed to lead the restrooms, basement, and stairs that were so broken down Aron was in disbelief. How does this place stand still?  He thought. It was hard to believe the building still existed.
Aron went down the hall leading to the bedrooms and went in each one at a time. Nothing.
He then check hall number two. Nothing. At least, as far as it goes until the basement. However, when he went down into the dark abyss, he heard a scream and felt a pain in his head before fainting.

Cole was at his desk checking off their target's name. "You.. Wanted to see me sir?" Skye asked as she walked in. Cole looked up.
"Yes. First, how's Aron doing? She hit him pretty hard."
"Still unconscious sir." She answered.
"And the victim? Dead yet?" He quizzed.
"Resisting"
"It's been over an hour! How is she living!?" He yelled, slamming his hands on his desk and standing up. Skye steeped back brushing her bangs from her face. Once Cole sat down, he started asked more questions about their progress, to which Skye answered with ease.

His questions lasted to the night with topics about the next target, Aron and next place to stay as they had to move often to prevent being caught.

Skye is the highest. She remembers every day the thoughts of her coworkers when she was chosen as a reporter for the master. Despite that, however, she was still chosen. No arguments were aloud. No discussion.
