"Drop your weapons!" said the officer in a deep voice.
'I'm done for good..' Thought the man. But not giving up hope, he looked around the officer. "Don't move! Stay where you are!" The officer warned him. The man, ignoring the officer pushed the latter ran towards the fire escape. The officer ran after him calling for backup on the way.
'Tap tap tap tap'.. Another sound was heard. "Not another officer! One was more than enough!" Said the man in distress while running. "Stay right where you are or I'll have to open fire!" Shouted another officer from a distance. He quickly glanced to his side and jumped out of a window right above the staircase.
Without stopping he dashed around the corner of the building and hid behind a bush. He carefully looked up to make sure none of the officers were following him. "Oh, thank God!" He said to himself. "But I'm not safe yet. I have blood on my clothes."
