The first line of a story should be short and it should pack a punch. That's what I've been told anyway. I ain't never been much on the matter of storytelling. I just know what I've seen. And what I've seen seems to be of great interest to a whole slew of different folks. I ain't never really thought much on the matter, but my eyes ain't never been much in the way of deceiving me neither. Kinda funny how a man can find himself in these sorts of predicaments. Especially after spending his whole life minding his own business staying out of other folks'. I ain't never been much on tending to the matters of others. That's the way it should be too. Whole lotta folks these days too preoccupied with the affairs of others to tend to their own. That's how it goes though. Thats the kinda thinking that got me into this whole mess in the first place. Had my own kin not spilled their guts all over town about the whole damn thing, his guts may not have been spilled out in the street by them Hoop n Holler heathens in the end. Sumbitch just couldn't keep quiet. Hell, in that matter, I should have never opened my own damned mouth neither.
