Turned Photo
Summer of June, 2024.
I sat upon my windows, sketching the scenery afar.
Such beautiful weather. Such a lovely season on a day as such.
I then happen to grab a hold of my grandmas old unused camera, from the 1950's.
She cherished it so much, gave it to I.
I decided to snap some pictures of the afar view from where I sat in my bedroom.
As I did so, I regret it immediately after.
I clicked the button.
Whooose, I became trapped within my own supposed photograph, it missed the outdoors, capturing me instead.
I felt trapped and fearful.
The I hear my father come pacing upstairs, calling my name.
He turned to my bed, and saw the photo of me, frozen in time.
He chuckled and thought I may have left early after I snapped a selfie of myself.
But he doesn't know I'm really there.
There, in the photo.
As he placed my photo down, back onto my bed.
He tried calling my phone.
My phone was on my bedside table.. He became confused.
Suddenly everything was black viewed.
And I was in the void.
Then a voice echoes across my face.
"child, you are stuck in the world. You cross my mind, my path, my life. There is no limits for you here. Find a way out.
I can not help" - then I open my eyes, and I was now in a painting facing my grandmas bedroom, the painting of woods and a cottage and ranch animals.
Everything came to life when I entered into it.
I saw a farmer and a little girl, caring to the crops.
I waved over yonder.
" hello? Where am i? Do you know how to leave here?" - and they looked both confused but in awe of my soul.
The girl came up to Me, and touched my face, she smiled.
"hello Agnes. I'm Lucille. I'm 10yr Olds, and this my daddy, Louis. We can help you with the problem.
But I can't get back to you." - her voice, soft but familiar.
Lucille was my grandma's name, is this her??
They both led me to a well in their front property.
And suddenly, I dropped into it.
I awoke in a few minutes to a man in a mask, his clothing like a doctors.
He looked at me, I couldn't see it, but I felt his emotions.
"time to wake up Agnes. You'll feel better soon. This is all an illusion. A dream. You're not a person who knows their life. Your grandma is on longer around, your father is not a dad to you."
- this man puts a sleeping oxygen mask on my face, I close my eyes.
Wake up, to realize.
I was in my dad's truck, it's raining.
The hospital in view from behind us.
" bout time you woke up, Aggie. How was your stay in the ward for a week, did it help? I know losing Granny Luci was tragic. But we got to live ours now. Mom said that I would be able to make you happier after she passed. We will be there for you and each other. "- he spoke emotionally and he sobbed a tad bit.
We drove the next hours home.
As I got home from the hospital, I went to my room.
But it was different from the last time.
My windows faces a lake, not the woodland.
My bed has different types of blankets.
The camera was in a glass case with a autograph tag written by my grandmother.
I'm so confused...
