Waiting for the night to come
#WritcoStoryPrompt45
Write a story based on this famous excerpt from The Night Slowly Came by Kate Chopin:

I am losing my interest in human beings; in the significance of their lives and their actions. Someone has said it is better to study one man than ten books. I want neither books nor men; they make me suffer, until i can't feel anything anymore.Life can be so complicated at time, but i rather get lost in the moment and hope for the pain to leave. A small hole can sink a very large ship. I guess it is true indeed, since there's a hole in my heart too. Sticks and stones may break my bones but your words won't. This is very much a lie, because that's what hurts me the most. Your words spat a fire, a curse so cruel, it made my heart split into two.Sitting on the porch waiting for an answer on what's my next move, I kept calm and held the tears back in. The sun was setting, the place had a warmth that made felt so overwhelmed, and very anxious to know what the night might bring.
Night slowly crept in, without hesitation the moon took to its stand, the stars came twinkling in too. Shadows were seen at every corner, darkness had its own mystery, and its own fantasy. The trees swayed willingly to the cool and soothing breeze and the roofs of every house whether big or small shimmered before the night.
This caused a rupture inside of me, I could not longer hold back the tears. The longing for happiness and for someone to hold created a storm i could not have controlled.
The night after a while made me realised that, for the moon to shine, darkness is needed.Waiting for the night to come has gave me the courage to conquer the pain, grief and hurt.
